Born in Rye, New York, Nicholas J. Kroll is an actor, screenwriter, producer and comedian. Born to mother Lynn Kroll and father Jules B. Kroll, Nick was raised in Westchester County, New York.

Nick graduated from Georgetown University, majoring in history, and then began a career in television writing and comedy. Well known for his standup, Nick performs not only on tour, but has made many television appearances, including the 2007 to 2008 TV sitcom Cavemen, the short-lived (2008 to 2009) CBS comedy series Worst Week and the more successful FX Network's The League (2009 to 2014), on which he starred as a series regular.

Nick also appeared on the popular comedy series Parks and Recreation from 2011 to 2015 and has his own half-hour comedy series, Kroll Show, on which he plays a variety of characters.

Nick made his first film appearance in the small budget film Adventures of Power (2008), but the following year, made his big screen debut with a small role in I Love You, Man (2009), starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel. He has also played supporting roles in Get Him to the Greek (2010), Dinner for Schmucks (2010) and Little Fockers (2010). In Adult Beginners (2014), Nick starred as an entrepreneur whose life comes crashing down around him, forcing him to become a nanny for his estranged pregnant sister and her husband. He also starred in the comedy Joshy (2016), the biographical drama Loving (2016) and the comedy The House (2017), and lent his voice to the adult animated film Sausage Party (2016), the animated musical Sing (2016), the animated comedy Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017) and the sequel The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019).

Nick has been honored with the Breakout Star of the Year Award at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and was named one of Variety's 10 Comics to Watch. He began dating Amy Poehler in 2013 and continues to play many roles in the entertainment industry.
