JASON SEGEL

Date of Birth: January 18, 1980

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Pacific Palisades, California, Jason Segel started acting at a young age. He worked hard at turning his acting dream into a reality by frequently participating in local theater productions at Palisades Playhouse during his adolescent years.

Over Segel's career he has acted in numerous roles on the big screen; however, Segel is best known for his role as Nick Andopolis on the NBC sitcom Freaks and Geeks (1999 to 2000) and more recently for his character as Marshall Eriksen on Fox-TV's How I Met Your Mother (2005 to present).

Segel made his big screen debut in 1998 with the small part of "Matt, the watermelon guy" in Can't Hardly Wait. That same year Segel starred opposite Mark Paul Gosselaar and Tom Everett Scott in the teenage flick Dead Man on Campus. Today Segel's movie career is sky-rocketing as he finds success in both writing and acting. He snagged the starring role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), followed by roles in I Love You, Man (2009), Five Year Engagement (2009), and the untitled Muppets Movie (2009).

Segel dated Freaks and Geeks co-star, Linda Cardellini, for several years after the show's cancellation. In recent interviews Segel jokes that Cardellini broke up with him because he gained 20 pounds.
