The Lorraine
The film tells the story of Memphis’s Lorraine Motel, a Black-owned sanctuary and cultural hub during the Jim Crow era. Using archival footage and firsthand voices, it explores the legacy of owners Walter and Loree Bailey and reclaims the history overshadowed by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination there in 1968.
