Smart, impressive, entertaining, sad, victorious, and eye-opening. Loved Colin Firth, and Jeoffrey Rush. The lifelong unlikely friendship between King George 6th and Lionel Logue unique. Knew a bit about it through the History Channel, now I think, I know the rest of the story.

Great movie. Not exciting or edge of your seat, but a good watch. Not deserving of best picture oscar...but the acting was great.

Yet again another fabulous movie! Both leading men are magnificant! The humor is spot-on! And to think all of this actually sits in the pages of our history book...RIGHT ON! LOVE always JOANNIE :)

This movie was extremely deserving of its many Oscar wins, especially that of Colin Firth for best actor. This is a touching movie that is so much deeper than a person learning to speack fluently - he has personal struggles, family struggles, identity struggles, and the interaction between him and his therapist as well as with his wife truly make this a triumph to watch.

A well written story with great acting performances turns what should have been an ordinary tale into a must-see movie.

The Best Movies made don't require special effects and high speed camera tricks that are hard to watch. Best movie in such a long time. It will be a part of Peoples libraries like Gone with the wind, Etc.

The King's Speech is an Oscar winner. It is intelligent, entertaining, and somewhat "fact based." I have recommended it to many of my friends and they have all enjoyed it. Colin Firth is an Oscar Winner in this for sure!

excellent acting and a great story of a friendship! highly recommend!!

User review rating: 5 February 21, 2011

I went to see it three times and enjoyed it more each time. The acting is brilliant and although the movie may seem slow at times, it is full of comedic relief with witty banter between the king and therapist. Colin Firth must have been emotionally and physically exhausted by this role. He should win best actor and Geoffrey Rush and Helen Bonham-Carter deserve Oscars for best-supporting roles. Helena played her part with perfectly understated, elegant simplicity. Those who rated it poorly don't appreciate the fine acting or the triumphant story it told. Who knew? Agonizing over every speech must have made the King's reign torture. No wonder it only lasted 15 years. George VI died of he
