In the emotionally stirring trailer for Moonlight, a Miami-based African-American man struggles to find himself and accept his sexual orientation. Split into three chapters spanning childhood, adolescence and adulthood, we see the harsh treatment the central character encounters on his quest to be himself. From being chased and pushed around by schoolyard bullies as a child, to physically assaulted as a teenager, the possibility of finding love unexpectedly presents itself as he becomes a man. His relationship with his parents -- at points tender, at others tumultuous -- is also depicted.
