The best movie of 2010! Part documentary, part social commentary, all hilarious! You will never look at subversive street art the same way again. Fans and non-fans of Banksy will both get plenty from this film and with narration by Rhys Ifans this is the "got to see" film of 2010! Brilliant!

User review rating: 5 July 29, 2010

As an introduction to the world of modern art this film hits the nail squarely on the head. As an expose of subversive art this film has no equal. Put those two elements together and you have the most witty and insightful documentary to come out in years! Rhys Ifans narrates this romp through the crazy world of modern art, its foibles and successes. A sort of rags to riches story on a scale you have to see to believe. Can not recommend this any more highly, a great film!

Really great movie. Recommend for anyone.

Not one of the best movies ever, but I liked it

User review rating: 5 July 28, 2010

The most entertaining documentary in ages! The art world will never look the same again as fimmaker and audience go behind the scenes to witness some of the most inspired lunacy of our time. Rhys Ifans is the perfect narrator for this brilliant piece of artistic espionage. If you haven't seen this yet you need to stop what you are doing and go see it NOW!

Wow this is the surprise movie of the year for me. So informative, educational and comical in a totally unexpected way!

User review rating: 0 July 26, 2010

Sheer brilliance! From the subject becoming the observer to the inspired lunacy of the modern art world to Rhys Ifans' narration, this film does no wrong! Some of the best laughs of the year and intrigue you don't get from fictional scripts. Thoroughly enjoyable romp through dark nights and police chases.

Work of genius disgused as a documentary. Quite possibly the most entertaining piece of fraud (debatable) this year! When the chronicler becomes the subject anything can happen. Banksy can seemingly do no wrong, or disguises it well. =]

This is hilarious. Is the whole thing some kind of Banksy set-up? I dunno. Do I care? Not a bit. Will leave you laughing and mullling about the nature of art all at once

Best movie of the summer! Smart, funny, daring, audacious and maybe more than a little bit true. There is a sucker born every minute and this film exposes more than a few. If you think you know the modern art world prepare to be schooled. Truly a work of art!

User review rating: 5 July 22, 2010

Funny, entertaining and brilliant! Anyone who has ever wondered why art is so pricey will get a shock to their system with this gem. You'll never look at grafitti the same way again after seeing this. The best movie of 2010!

User review rating: 5 July 21, 2010

A piece of cinematic genius! The perfect example of a silk purse made from a sow's ear. The truth is never pretty, but always entertaining as this modern art documentary shows us in spades! Funny, informative, unbelievable and non-stop entertaining, movies rarely get to be as good as this!

User review rating: 5 July 20, 2010

This movie is about art as much as it is about fraud. Highly entertaining film from Banksy, definitely not what you'd expect. When the subjector becomes the subjected anything can happen and in this film IT DOES! Modern art pushed to the limit, then strangled and left for dead only to be resurrected and worshiped. Unbelievably good movie!

User review rating: 5 July 16, 2010

Either way [as documentary or hoax], the movie speaks the truth about the phoniness and self-adulation of the art world.

Strange movie!

User review rating: 4 July 08, 2010

Superb film giving insight into a curious subculture. Little is revealed about Banksy himself but the story of the Franco-American chap does give one pause about the current art scene. I admire the man's risk-taking however his success in vending his output indicates there are people in LA who possess more money than brains! Can you imagine parting good money for a painting of "Batman's Grandfather" ? Highly entertaining entry in the new era of the documentary. Highly recommended.

Excellent insight into the vanity, self promnotion and pointlessness of the modern art world. This movie exposes the ego and lack of talent necessary to make it in the world of contemporary art. A must see for any vain, lazy artist who'd rather complain than be creative.

User review rating: 4 July 08, 2010

I can't help but feel that by making this movie, Banksy moves into the mainstream and undermines his own point. Having said that, the movie works well and is absorbing and compelling.

Genius film, not what you'd expect by a long shot! Perhaps the funniest, most entertaining documentary ever made... about a documentarian! Better than 80% of the rebooted, sequaled, remakes presently cluttering up the cinemas. Definitely worth checking out!

User review rating: 5 July 05, 2010

Brilliant documentary, not what you'd expect at all. Full of humour, tension and some truly brilliantr characters, this is what documentaries are all about. Well worth seeing... twice!

Sure, try and make cult heros out of morons who destroy private property, and think that the country owes them the right to desecrate society. What a bunch of bullshit!!

User review rating: 5 June 30, 2010

The meaning of life lies in this film...only artists can bring it! This movie is sublime, go see it.

User review rating: 5 June 30, 2010

Hilarious look at late night subversive artists. Cameras are turned off the subject and onto something far more fascinating and hilarious, the filmmaker himself. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll question everything you know. Go see it now!

Terrific!! I have seen this movie twice now and it blew my mind both times.

User review rating: 1 June 29, 2010

what a dud

User review rating: 5 June 29, 2010

Fierce, funny, fabulous. Quite possibly the funniest documentary about a documentarian ever made. Cast of characters drive this film into the stratosphere well beyond your usual movie pap. Well worth experiencing the painful laughing fits this film will induce.
