Awesome

This is the BEST theatre I've been too! No Cell Phones, No loud children, NO noise and no being late for a movie! When you pay good money for a ticket it's nice to not have to deal that. Keep up the good work Alamo! I will continue to come back!

The only theater worth going to in C'Ville

In our experience, staff have always been kind and helpful. The seats are comfortable and food selection is wonderful for momentary splurging. Alamo is the only theater I go to in the area!

Great spot for dinner and a movie

Clearly the last 4 reviews are from the same person. I have NEVER had a bad experience at this theater. Been there probably a dozen times or so. The prices are a bit high fo food and beer but ITS A THEATER. At other theaters you spend 7 dollars on a bag of candy. Here you can get a beer for that price. Thats a win in my book. Also, the spicy chicken sandwich is objectively delicious. Ignore the one irritated poster and go see a movie here. It is legit the best theater in cville by FAR.

A good experience

I have no complaints with the Alamo. I am not sure their popcorn is as tasty as that at the Violet Crown (which uses real butter), but the menu is okay. The servers are very quiet as is the entire theater. When I pay good money to see a movie I don't want to hear other patrons talking, chomping on food with their mouths open, or rattling their plastic and paper. I'd like to think that the staff at the Alamo would back me up if I needed help.

Doing their best, but an awkward experience

I've been to this theatre a few times and always wanted to like it, but I've found it disappointing every time. I have had servers interrupt during very tense and important parts of the climax of a film to give us the check. Many of my orders have been missed or delivered incorrectly. The food is.... honestly not very good. It's tough because I can tell everyone is trying their hardest, but ultimately it hasn't been a very good movie-going experience for me here.

Terrible server

Was flagged and refused service because my server said I had too much alcohol. Diet coke is too strong apparently. Will never go here again.

Ridiculous

Horrible experience to say the least. We actually weren't even allowed in the doors of the theater because we were literally 2 minutes "late" to the movie. They turned us away at the door, even after we'd already paid online for our tickets. Supposedly there is a policy that moviegoers are not allowed in past 10 minutes of the movie time as a "sign of respect." The employees were not confident in applying their own policies because they realized that it didn't make any sense. We also pointed out that people get up and leave a theater all the time to use the restroom and the expected culture surrounding movie-going is that people will get up and leave their seats quietly. They could not logically address our poignant questions and just shrugged their sholders. Therefore, I will not return unless they reconsider. None of the policies were posted on our tickets or written clearly on the website, so there was no way to be aware of this ridiculous policy. I suggest they go back to the drawing board since they need to realize their market that being in a college town makes entering into a theater in such a small window is unrealistic. Never again. I hope they fail, they deserve to. Trash.
