TOMMY O'HAVER

Date of Birth: 1967

A 1995 graduate of USC School of Cinema-Television, O'Haver jumped into feature films after directing and writing the gay-themed shorts Catalina (1994) and Happy Hour (1997).

He took the leap into feature films by writing and directing the romantic comedy Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss (1998), about a gay man who falls in love with a straight man. The film won Best Feature at the International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

O'Haver moved into the big time when he was chosen to direct Get Over It (2001), starring Kirsten Dunst. Unfortunately the teen comedy was a flop, barely making its money back at the box office. Three years later, his next film, Ella Enchanted (2004) was released, with an all-star cast that included Anne Hathaway, Minnie Driver and Cary Elwes. Based on the best-selling children's book by Gail Carson Levine, the story follows a princess who is under a spell that forces her to obey every command.
