Born: November 17, 1978

Tom Ellis was born Thomas John Ellis in Cardiff, Wales to Marilyn Jean and Christopher John Ellis. He has three sisters, including a twin. Tom attended High Storrs School and later, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, previously called the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

He played small roles since his television debut in 2000, that is, until he had his breakthrough performance on the BBC One television show Miranda (2009-2015) as heartthrob Gary Preston. Other notable roles include a Hollywood physician on the USA Network television series Rush (2014), Justyn on Channel 4's No Angels (2005-2006), Thomas Mulligan on the Doctor Who (2007) series three finale and Mark Etches on the supernatural television show The Fades (2011).

Tom's most recognizable performance came when he cast as Lucifer Morningstar on the television series Lucifer (2016-2021). He played the role until the sixth and final season in 2021.

He won the Tell-Tale TV Award for Favorite Actor in a cable of streaming Sci-fi/Fantasy/Horror series in 2021.

Tom married Tamzin Outhwaite in 2006 and they had two children together before their divorce in 2014. He then married Meaghan Oppenheimer in 2019 and had another child via surrogacy in 2023. Tom has four children altogether, including one from a prior relationship.
