Born: March 25, 1979

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, comedian Nate Bargatze grew up around entertainment thanks to his father, who was a clown, magician, and motivational speaker. After briefly attending college and working jobs including construction, furniture delivery, and meter-reading, Nate pursued stand-up full time. He started performing in 2002, studying improv in Chicago before moving to New York City, where he worked as a club barker in exchange for stage time.

His career gained momentum in 2008 with appearances on television and at major comedy festivals. Bargatze later released successful specials including The Greatest Average American and Hello World, the latter becoming Amazon Prime Video’s most-streamed original comedy special at the time. Known for his clean, relatable humor, he also launched The Nateland Podcast and became one of comedy’s top touring acts. He hosted Saturday Night Live in 2023 and 2024 and the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2025.

In 2026, he wrote and starred in his first feature film, The Breadwinner (2026), with Mandy Moore playing his wife.
