Born: February 19, 1958

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Leslie David Baker was an accomplished scholar before ever finding his passion for acting. He holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Loyola University Chicago and a Masters of Science in human services administration from the Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership in Chicago. After gaining his degrees, Leslie worked as a special education teacher while acting in OfficeMax commercials on the side. He worked for the Board of Education, the Department of Public Health, and the Office of Cable and Communications in Chicago.

He had always held a passion for acting but found the job to be too unrealistic. When he landed in a lawsuit with the City of Chicago, he was left with a large settlement and a dream. He decided to move to Los Angeles at 40 years old to pursue acting. Picking up a couple of small gigs, he soon landed his role as Stanley Hudson on The Office, and remained on the show from 2005 to 2013, when the show ended. Afterwards, he guest starred on other series such as Austin & Ally, Raven's Home, Fam, Tom and Jerry in New York, and more.

Along with his television career, Leslie has also had a successful film career. He has appeared in the films Fallen Stars (2017) as Ron, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017) as the voice of Officer McPiggly, The Happytime Murders (2021) as Lt. Banning, and more.

Leslie was the backbone of his office character without even realizing it. During his original audition, he was overdressed, and it was so busy they didn’t even choose to see him, so he left for a different audition. This changed when he got the call to come back and audition, and on his way back, he ran into the worst traffic of his life, putting him in a cranky mood. When he improvised part of his audition in his grumpy mood, the producers were immediately impressed and gave him the role, creating the cranky Stanley Hudson fans love.

Leslie will appear in the film Hard Miles (2023) as Skip Bowman.
