Jessica Stroup left her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina at age 17 and headed to Los Angeles, where she immediately began to find work as a model and actress. Her first acting job was a 2005 guest shot on the Nickelodeon teen series Unfabulous, starring Emma Roberts. Next, Stroup landed a small role in the CBS TV movie Vampire Bats (2005), starring Lucy Lawless. For Fox network, she played a supporting role in the TV movie Southern Comfort (2006), starring Eric Roberts (Emma's dad).

Her first feature film to open in theaters was School for Scoundrels (2006) starring Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder, in which she played a small role as Eli's wife.

Other television credits include Grey's Anatomy, Zoey 101 and Girlfriends. Her first leading role in a major motion picture was in the horror sequel The Hills Have Eyes II (2007), featuring a cast of unknowns. Upcoming films include Sony Pictures' This Christmas (2007).

Stroup lives in Los Angeles.
