Born and raised in Brooklyn, Havana Rose Liu is the daughter of Carley Roney and David Liu, who co-founded the wedding planning company The Knot. She attended New York University, where she explored art, activism, and wellness studies before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2019.

Havana Rose gained early attention in the fashion world after appearing on the cover of Vogue Italia in September 2020. The following year, she made her screen debut with a supporting part in the action-drama Mayday. In 2022, she appeared in both the romantic drama The Sky Is Everywhere and the thriller No Exit, earning praise for her portrayal of a recovering addict in the latter. She later starred in Bottoms alongside Rachel Sennott, Ayo Edebiri, and Kaia Gerber. For her role in the 2026 thriller Tuner starring Dustin Hoffman and Leo Woodall, Havana Rose underwent intensive piano training as part of her preparation.
