Daniella Pineda Biography

Daniella Pineda is a Mexican-American actress, writer, and comedian best known for her work on the fantasy supernatural drama The Originals and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Daniella was born in Oakland, California and is of Mexican descent. She attended Mills College, where she graduated with a degree in sociology and radio journalism.

She made her television acting debut in 2010, appearing in an episode of Men of a Certain Age (2010), playing the role of Kit.

Before paving her way into the world of acting on television and movies, Daniella found success acting in online comedy sketches, starring in a number of sketch comedy videos for CollegeHumor as part of their CH Originals series.

In 2011, Daniella made her big screen debut, appearing in Newlyweds (2011), an independent film directed by Edward Burns, in which she played the role of Vanessa.

In 2013, Daniella appeared on an episode of the hit teen drama Vampire Diaries (2013) as Sophie Devereaux. The episode served as a backdoor pilot to the Vampire Diaries spin-off series The Originals (2013-2014)

From 2013 to 2014, she continued to play the role of Sophie Devereaux as part of the main cast of The Originals. She stayed on the show for one season, until her character was written off in the 13th episode of the series.

In 2018 Daniella landed her biggest role to date, playing a supporting role as Zia Rodriguez alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018). She is set to reprise the role of Zia in the 2022 sequel Jurassic World: Dominion (2022).

Most recently, Daniella appeared in the live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop (2021) as Faye Valentine.

Daniella lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She has two siblings, sister Anneliese Michaela and brother Elliot Klein. ~Sean Olegario
