Born: June 29, 1982

Colin Jost was born in New York City and raised in the borough of Staten Island. His mother worked as the chief medical officer for the city's fire department, while his father was a teacher.

From an early age, Colin developed a sharp sense of humor and a love of writing, interests he continued to pursue throughout school.

After graduating from Harvard University, where he served as president of The Harvard Lampoon, Colin joined the writing staff of Saturday Night Live in 2005. He quickly became one of the show's key writers, serving as co-head writer before taking over as co-anchor of the iconic "Weekend Update" segment in 2014.

In 2020, he released the bestselling memoir A Very Punchable Face

Beyond Saturday Night Live, Colin has appeared on the big screen, including Tom & Jerry (2021), Coming 2 America (2021), Fly Me to the Moon (2024) and The Breadwinner (2026). 

Colin is married to Scarlett Johansson, whom he met through Saturday Night Live during one of her many appearances as a host. The couple began dating in 2017 and married in an intimate ceremony at their New York home in October 2020. In August 2021, they welcomed their first child together.
