Hugh Jackman's divorce fallout sparks Hollywood snub

Published By Tribute on May 27, 2026

Hugh Jackman, Sutton Foster and Deborra-Lee Furness Reports surrounding Hugh Jackman’s divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness continue to intensify, with new claims suggesting the fallout is beginning to affect the actor's Hollywood friendships.

According to multiple reports, Hugh believes several longtime friends are distancing themselves from him and siding with Deborra following the end of their 27-year marriage. The speculation grew after claims that Nicole Kidman "iced out" Hugh and his girlfriend Sutton Foster at the 2026 Met Gala.

A source told Woman’s Day that Hugh believes Deborra is the reason why "more and more people in Hollywood are quietly turning against him" after he left his wife to be with Sutton, adding, "It’s not just Nicole – he's now convinced Naomi Watts and Russell Crowe are ditching him for Deb too."

Sources alleged that Hugh feels increasingly frustrated by the situation, believing the split has "spiralled way beyond a normal breakup." His affair with Sutton began when he played Harold Hill and Sutton, who was also married at the time, played Marian in the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man, according to InTouch, which called the affair "an open secret on Broadway."

Hugh and Deborra separated in September 2023, while in October 2024, Sutton filed for divorce from screenwriter Ted Griffin, her husband of 10 years.

Hugh and Sutton are reportedly trying to move forward while the actor finalizes loose ends tied to his divorce. One major issue is the former couple's luxury West Village penthouse in Manhattan, which has reportedly struggled to sell after first being listed in 2022. Sources claim Sutton wants Hugh completely separated from his past marriage before taking the next step in their relationship.

Meanwhile, stars like Kidman continue to remain close to Furness during the difficult period. Insiders claim the actress has been supporting her longtime friend through the divorce and encouraging her to embrace a new chapter in her life. ~Megan Parsons

Well, he doesn't seem to have a type. From older, blonde and blue eyed to younger, dark hair and brown eyes.

I kind of agree with his Hollywood friends. He'll never be the same in my eyes. I didn't see his last movie because of that. Plus, his new "girlfriend" has a nine-year-old daughter (his children are adults) and this will impact that girl so badly. When you have kids, don't cheat or leave your partner. You are doing so much more damage than you can imagine.

“My friends won’t talk to me because I unapologetically had a very public affair and left my wife, wahhh!” What did he expect to happen?

Didn’t mean to include my last name in the comment

Well, people tend to take sides. Hugh is the one who cheated on his wife but the irony in this article is Russell Crowe taking Hugh's ex's side when he too did a similar action when he slept with Meg Ryan while she was still married...soooo he was a bad guy and Meg was a bad girl. Someone wrote about staying together when you have kids. If you are unhappy, your kids will notice and it will affect them. You also have your own life to live and should be happy. If you can split amicably, that is what can work best with the kids. If the kids see the emotional or physical abuse, that will mess them up wayyyyy more. Either way, Hugh was a bad guy, still a good actor, but a bad guy in his personal life. I'm sure he could have predicted this would have happened if he has an affair. He should have ended the marriage first. Give your wife that much respect from the years together and one big thing is SHE is responsible for the trajectory of his career. SHE told him to take the role of Wolverine! He owes his wife a LOT.

While we are on the subject of marriage becoming a nun is another Catholic absurdity. Lifetime of celibacy is unnatural & nuns can’t marry Jesus because he is dead.

Big deal. It is sad that such a long marriage has ended. But, that's Hollywood. And love doesn't last forever. Are his friends so fair-weather? If so, he really doesn't need them and the hypocrisy.

It really is nobody's business. To turn friends against one partner or the other is tantamount to using children as pawns in a custody battle, evil, narcissistic and childish.

His personal life is just that. Who cares what his so-called friends think. If they are true friends, they will still be his friend. The others he should just write off and enjoy his life.

This is BS. Nicole sat next to Hugh at the Met Gala. Russell is a good friend of Hugh, not Deb. Naomi went to see Hugh's play last year. Stop stirring the pot. Let them be happy. They are nice people.

No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Loved him in Song Sung Blue.
