Moana, Disney's live-action remake starring Catherine Laga'aia and Dwayne Johnson, debuted in the top spot this weekend, taking in $43 million.
Last week's top finisher, Minions & Monsters, dropped to second, taking in another $20.5 million for a two-week total of $108.3 million.
Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5, featuring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack, dropped to third place, taking in another $19 million for a four-week total of $404.5 million.
The horror film Evil Dead Burn, starring Souheila Yacoub, Luciane Buchanan, and Hunter Doohan, opened in fourth place, earning $13.7 million in its debut weekend.
Rounding out the top five was Young Washington, starring William Franklyn-Miller, Ben Kingsley, and Andy Serkis, earning an extra 6.4 million for a two-week total of $33.1 million. ~Chidera Arimah
