Dwayne Johnson accused of unprofessionalism on film sets

Dwayne Johnson in Red Notice (2021)A new report claims that Dwayne Johnson's continual tardiness on the set of the upcoming Christmas-themed film Red One cost the studio millions and has delayed the release of the film.

According to The Wrap, Red One, which was originally scheduled to be released in December 2023, was delayed due to "Johnson’s chronic lateness and lack of professionalism on set." The film, which co-stars Chris Evans and J.K. Simmons, wound up costing the studio over $250 million.

According to more than a dozen insiders "directly involved in the project," The Wrap reported that Dwayne sometimes showed up as much as eight hours late for his call to the set, which forced filmmakers to instead shoot scenes that didn't involve him on those days.

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that Dwayne previously clashed with Ryan Reynolds on the 2021 action comedy Red Notice due to his constant lateness to set, which affected the shooting schedule in 2020 during the pandemic. One day, when Dwayne was five hours late, Ryan had enough and spoke with Dwayne about how his tardiness was affecting the entire shoot, including the COVID protocols that Dwayne had to go through hours after the rest of the cast and crew. Reports vary on how well Dwayne took the dressing down, but by the time the two stars were promoting the movie, they appeared to be on good terms.

The Wrap also reported that on film sets Dwayne urinates in a water bottle to save time, which upset crew members because they were the ones who had to dispose of the waste matter. “On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom,” one insider claimed. “He pees in a Voss water bottle and his team or a PA has to dispose of it.”

Dwayne, who once claimed he's "the hardest worker in the room," has developed a reputation for his tardiness and lack of professionalism on set, according to multiple insiders who spoke to The Wrap, with a Red One insider saying, "The only thing Dwayne was consistent at was being chronically late."

He's also been hours late to numerous live commitments, which caused the audience to boo him at one WWE event. He responded to the crowd's anger, asking them, "You’re booing because The Rock was a little late, that’s why you’re booing? was watching YouTube, watching Jalen Hurts lose in the playoffs again."

He added, "You boo because it’s the truth. Now, The Rock has shown up, you got greatness in front of you. You stand there, shut your mouth and enjoy the ride that The Rock is taking you on."

Red One is now in post production and is expected to hit theaters on November 15, 2024. ~Alexandra Heilbron

I don't know why people like this guy. He's a terrible actor, and if he's costing studios millions, then he'd better pray his movies make enough to cover the loss. He's been in several bombs and had problems with other actors (Vin Diesel), so I don't see how he's worth it.

Must be a slow news day. Who cares if he's late to set? Probably not the only actor in the world to do this.

Have you ever been on a movie set, J? Didn't think so. When actors are late, they are usually fired. It's a huge deal to arrive late on a set or to a play. On a movie set, it costs the studio and wastes everyone's time, especially if you're the star because they need you so they can begin filming. And if you read the story, it's not just that he's late. He's disrespectful. Walk a few steps to a bathroom instead of whipping out your johnson and going in a bottle, for crying out loud. Don't make other people carry your piss around. That's disgusting.

These are unnamed people with rumours. - Johnson has had a feud with Vin Diesel over Diesel not working. - Johnson is booked solid and has a regimen to keep that shape. - Reshoots, extensions of shooting will affect his availability.. And he is quite overbooked. - New Movie was created for him, by his people - Ryan Reynold supposedly had a problem with him, but they are doing red notice 2 and red one together nonetheless. Johnson also did a voice for Free guy.

The only reason, I can see, is that he fills the frame. That's why he works in movies, as far as acting talent, there isn't any !!! True acting and people with talent haven't been around for quite a while. We are losing them daily. It's sad but, they are all getting old and can't be hee forever, unfotunately !

Some of his movies are entertaining popcornish movies, and he is quite bankable, however that doesn't give you a pass to act like a douche. If these acusations are true, come on Dwayne, do better!

If this is true it’s very sad. Imagine making millions of dollars and doing it half a**ed. Imagine being so ignorant and holding up Hundreds to thousands of people pending set and pushing back release and your own payments from ticket sales etc. imagine apparently not needing any of that money… so many people are on verge of starving and can’t get any work let alone be extremely late to it without being fired, written up and banned from the industry/job itself.

He does realize that he is NOT more important than anyone else doesn't he? I find it unbelievable when good people go annoying like this. Shape up buddy or you'll be costing yourself money at the box office.
