Thomas Elms was born in British Columbia, Canada. A class clown, he fell in love with the stage on his first day of high school, when he saw a rehearsal of the musical Bye Bye Birdie. He attended university to study philosophy, but halfway through his program, he decided to audition for the three-year acting program at the University of British Columbia, which cemented his love of the craft of acting.
